BIOGRAPHY

With a passionate belief that great design can enhance lives and make a real difference to those who engage with it, Rob’s design process focuses on thoroughly understanding each client’s brief, aspirations, and desires for the project. This is followed by a detailed review of the site context, allowing for design solutions that are not only appropriate to the situation but also exceed the client’s expectations.

Robert Flanagan has built a reputation for providing a personable service and delivering successful projects in the residential sector. His work ranges from small extensions and loft conversions to large extensions, new homes, boutique hotels, and housing schemes.

​

Rob works with a diverse range of clients, including homeowners, developers, and fellow architects. He forms strong, collaborative relationships with contractors, planners, and building control officers to ensure that all projects meet the demands of planning legislation and building regulations.

​

I have been fortunate to study Architecture at the University of Brighton and Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic), which provided a solid foundation for my career. The education I received has been essential in helping shape my creativity and approach to both the history and future of architecture.

​

In addition, I pursued Business studies at the University of Portsmouth, which has equipped me with the professional management skills to organise and administer my work effectively.

​

As a RIBA Chartered Architect, registered with the Architects Registration Board (ARB), I recently formed my own architectural practice, Architekton Architects, after working with award-winning architectural firms. My focus is on providing thoughtful, sustainable, and inspiring design solutions that respond to the needs of my clients and the context in which they are situated.
